Each morning, I have my coffee at Costa Coffee in Dubai Investment Park. The staff are wonderful and treat both me and the other customers very well.
I told the staff to call me Dave or David rather than Sir. This was a problem because they saw it as disrespectful and wanted to continue to call me Sir. After many months, we reached a compromise, and they now call me Sir David! I am not sure if they understand why this title amuses me so much, but it makes me laugh, and therefore, they laugh as well.
The point of the post is to highlight what fantastic customer service we experience in Dubai in coffee shops, restaurants, retail outlets and the whole customer service sector. I certainly don’t always receive this level of service back in the UK or in other countries that I visit.
